Blaenavon WH Visitor Centre

Blaenavon was the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. The town and its Industrial Landscape were awarded World Heritage Site Status by UNESCO in 2000 for the leading role played by the area in the Industrial Revolution during the 19th Century.

The perfect place to begin a visit is the Blaenavon World Heritage Centre located in two beautifully restored former industrial schools, built by the Ironmasters in the early 19th Century. Both the interactive displays at the Centre and the Tourist Information Centre staff will introduce visitors to the many attractions in the area, which can be reached either by car or by walking, many of which offer FREE entry to visitors.
